Knee Surgery
The Orthopedic surgeons at Prakash Hospital offer all kinds of Knee Surgery from simple key-hole surgeries to the whole knee’s replacement. The expert team runs a highly successful program with one of the lowest infection rates and almost negligible blood transfusion requirement. The pain program is also unique, with many patients walking on the same day as the knee replacement. Sports medicine and arthroscopy with cartilage therapy & ligament reconstruction are other strong areas of expertise in our hospital.
Hip Surgery
Many childhood conditions are often under-diagnosed, leading to arthritis of the hip at a very young age. Loss of blood supply to the hip is another common condition. In many cases, our orthopaedic surgeons have attempted to preserve the hip either through bone realignment or replacement, as required. Many hips destroyed by injuries have also been operated successfully in our hospital. Our surgeons use modern implants, especially ceramic implants, which can last even 20-30 years.
Shoulder Surgery
Shoulder Surgery is possibly one area that has enriched and expanded from the recent increase in technology and knowledge. Shoulder surgery can now, to a large extent, be done through key-hole surgery. Complex conditions such as dislocated shoulder, muscle tears, and frozen shoulder can now be done by staying in the hospital for just one day. Salvage surgery in reverse shoulder replacement is also being done more commonly now. As a major substitute for surgical intervention, physiotherapy has been perfected in our hospital.
Trauma and fracture Surgery
Accidents are untimely and require emergency care. Our Orthopaedic team is available on call 24 X 7. We undertake small injury management such as finger fractures to major pelvic bone fractures to even spinal cord injuries. The experience and know-how of our orthopedic doctors leave no room for any inadequacy of treatment. Sports Medicine
Our doctors have a rich experience in providing treatment for non-union fractures, avascular necrosis of the femur, and tendon problems. Our Sports Medicine team now offers this on an outpatient basis.
